The distinguished Miss University of Florida Scholarship Pageant is a local preliminary pageant for the Miss Florida Scholarship Pageant and Miss America Pageant. Started in 1956, the pageant has awarded University of Florida women thousands of dollars in scholarships over the years. Miss University of Florida represents UF through her involvement, leadership, and love of the university. Once crowned Miss UF, the winner will compete with fellow titleholders from across the state for the title of Miss Florida. The Miss University of Florida Scholarship pageant consists of a private interview (30% of total score), a fitness portion (20% of total score), a talent portion (20% of total score), evening wear (20% of total score) and on-stage question (10% of total score). Contestants are evaluated by a panel of judges who have been certified through the Miss America organization.
